A certified personal trainer will instruct you in the areas of cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and flexibility. We will evaluate your present level of fitness and assist you in establishing attainable goals that will be reached through a safe, efficient and personalized exercise program. We will help educate and motivate you to reach your fitness goals while working with you 1 on 1.
All Fitness Center Staff are CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certified and hold various other health and fitness certifications. We are confident our experienced staff will provide you with a safe, effective exercise program.
Who works with a personal trainer?

Carol Clay is a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor through the American Council of Exercise (ACE), NETA Certified Senior Fitness Instructor and SilverSneakers® Certified. She is a YMCA Certified Fitness Specialist, Personal Fitness Director, Strength Trainer and Advanced Fitness Instructor and Group Cycling Instructor. She is also a certified TABATA Bootcamp trainer. Carol has designed programs for all age groups and fitness levels from the deconditioned to the athlete as well as those recovering from an injury, surgery, or those having special medical concerns or limitations.
Aleksandar Petroski is a Certified Personal Trainer and holds a Bachelor degree in Sports and Physical Education. Aleksandar has experience working with clients of all ages and abilities as well as those recovering from injuries or surgery. He is a certified swim, ski and kickboxing instructor. Whether your goal is building a stronger body, improving muscle tone or for health benefits, Aleksandar can get you there.

At the Y, we want to support you in your first steps on your wellness journey. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to intensify your workout, our health and wellness experts will take the time to learn more about you and your fitness goals.
The Coaching Connection is a program committed to supporting our community in making everyday choices to be healthy and live well.
At the Green County Family YMCA we offer all of our members the opportunity to meet weekly with our wellness coaches. These meetings are included in your membership.
When you enroll, you’ll meet one-on-one with a trained wellness professional. At your first meeting, your coach’s priority is to sit down and listen to your story. They learn about your health history and discuss your likes and dislikes.
Most importantly, they learn about your goals. Whether you’re just getting started or have exercised for years your personal goals become your coach's primary focus. You’ll meet with a coach once a week for six weeks. During this time, your coach will help you create a comprehensive wellness plan that will get you on track for meeting your goals. The Y is committed to your success, so you can re-enroll in the program as often as you need.
Members 10 - 17 years old must complete 6 Coaching Connection appointments prior to using the Fitness Center.
Members 10 - 12 who have completed 6 Coaching Connection appointments are allowed to use only the cardio side of the Fitness Center.
Members 13 - 17 who have completed 6 Coaching Connection appointments are allowed to use both the cardio and free weight sides of the Fitness Center.
All Members ages 18 and up can sign up for Coaching Connection to get acquainted with our wellness floor equipment and begin to craft a personalized workout plan. Together, you and your Wellness Coach will determine the next steps.
For those who are already confident on the Wellness Floor and just want to learn the ins and outs of our facility, this consultation may take an hour to outline fitness goals, likes and dislikes, injuries, and set up an exercise routine tailored to your needs.

Our Fitness Center has two spacious well kept rooms and is packed with all the latest cardio and strength training equipment. Whether you prefer running on a treadmill, cycling beside a friend, reading while on an elliptical trainer, lifting free weights or using strength training equipment, you can achieve your goals at the Y. It is a very friendly environment with qualified staff on hand who are willing to help anybody with questions.Membership includes unlimited use of state-of-the-art fitness center!
