Member Service Representative

**Sundays required** 10 Hours per Week

Description: The Green County Family YMCA has an immediate need for a Membership Services Representative.

Expectations: Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the Member Service Representative is responsible for greeting members, prospective members, program participants, non-members, callers, and visitors to the Y in a pleasant, professional manner. He/She will monitor access to the facility and provide informational services and direct individuals to the proper person or location, check and receive money for membership sales and program/class fee payment, handling all types of incoming calls and related messages, routing to proper staff and clerical duties.

Responsible for the following duties:

  • Perform member relations duties, handle complaints and inquiries.
  • Follow check-in and service procedures.
  • Follow cash management and receipting procedures.
  • Handle enrollments and payments.
  • Handle telephone reception.
  • Maintain the Service Desk in a neat, clean and well-organized fashion.
  • Arrange for facility membership tours, as well as give tours.
  • Sign up new members, complete membership paperwork.
  • Process member and staff ID cards.
  • Stock work areas with forms and stationary supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Experience in Microsoft Office products and quick ability to learn other computer programs.
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, while managing competing priorities and requirements.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Ability to both work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Position requires a High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $8.00 to $9.00 /hour

3k/4k Teacher Aide


  • High School Diploma and/or Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous teaching experience minimum 1 year.
  • Able to be very flexible, work under pressure and multitask

Reports to Discovery Center Director

Job Goals:

  • Assist in the preparation & implementation of instructional material
  • Reinforce instruction to individual or small groups of children.

Instructional Responsibilities:

  • Assist the teacher in arranging the room which could include, putting up bulletin boards, or other classroom displays, and physically helping to set up the classroom to have the best conducive learning environment for the children.
  • Assist the teacher in making sure the children understand the rules and routines of the classroom.
  • Read to the whole group and small groups of children.
  • Assist teacher with the gathering of materials to successfully implement the lesson plan.

Classroom Management Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher by performing some clerical duties such as filing, typing and photocopying of instructional materials.
  • Take care of and operate the instructional materials, which may include preparing the room for the activity, getting the necessary materials, and returning the materials to the proper storage place when finished.
  • Assist the teacher with supervision during non-instructional times such as playing on the playground, field trips, hallways, swimming, and gymnastics.
  • Assist students with clothing and helping a child if they have a toileting issue.
  • Assist with snacks and other clean up duties as needed.
  • Assisting the teacher to make sure the learning environment is safe, orderly and clean.
  • Observe and monitor the behavior of all students according to the procedures of the classroom and report progress and concerning behavior to the teacher.

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the Registry Process.
  • Follow the policies and procedures of the Green County YMCA
  • Demonstrate the ability to react well under pressure, multi-task and juggle many things at once; work with many interruptions, while still performing duties at an expected level of professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision at certain times.
  • Able to use good judgement and initiative to act without being asked.
  • Demonstrate appropriate inter-personal relationships with students, parents and staff.
  • Respect the confidentiality of information regarding students and their families. The ability to be discreet when dealing with parents and staff.
  • Participate in activities outside of the usual workday such as the monthly Family Fun Night Activity.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the teacher.

Full time during school year. Average hours per week 36
