Covid - 19 Policy

Starting Tuesday, December 1st Face Masks Will Be required In Our Facility at All Times

It is evident we are in crisis mode in Green County and the State of Wisconsin. The YMCA’s focus on our current healthcare crisis means that we must do all that we can to be a part of the solution. WE NEED YOUR HELP. We do our part daily with increasing cleaning protocols and added supplies, we promote social distancing, our entire team wear masks to protect you and each other. PLEASE, HELP US STAY OPEN AND STAY SAFE. Thank you everyone who has helped the YMCA to date. Your membership, your grace in following best practices for our re-opening and encouragement have all been appreciated. For those who have stepped away, please know the YMCA hears you and we are taking action.

  • Even if you meet or exceed our state guidelines for an exemption, you need to wear a mask at all times within the facility
  • We know that wearing a mask while exercising is challenging and not ideal. We understand and fell the same way. It can be difficult to adjust to breathing under a mask when you are exercising, but it can be done.
  • The expectation is that you must cover your nose and mouth at all times with a mask. If you need to catch your breath, you may drop or lower your mask temporarily.

  • We fully support refusal to wear a mask. We do understand that you have a choice, however, per this facility policy
    • If you choose not to wear a mask, you will be asked by a YMCA staff member to leave the YMCA.
    • If you choose not to wear a mask, we ask you stop at our front desk to review your options.

THERE WILL BE THREE EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE:When you are in the pool area. (Please wear a mask in the locker room until entering the showers).

  • If you are the only person in the fitness center during 24/7 access, you may remove your mask. (You will have to have easily accessible to put on once another member enters the fitness center).
  • Children under the age of 5, but we do encourage children ages 3-4 to wear masks.

We ask everyone to please adhere to all policies to make sure we can keep our YMCA open:

  • Maintain social distancing, 6 feet or more, at all times
  • Wash your hands regularly
  • Clean the equipment you use before and after each use
  • If you do not have a mask, please stop at our front desk and we would be happy to provide one for you.
