Foster health and well-being for children and families

The Green County Family YMCA Discovery Center offers multiple programs for your children to take part in! With so many demands on today’s families and the increased focus on early brain development, families need all the support they can get to nurture the potential of youth. That’s why child care and early learning programs at the Y focus on holistically nurturing child development by providing a safe and healthy place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

YMCA CARES Program - New Program!

The YMCA has created a new program called the Y CARES program to give your children the structured environment and educational support they need during their alternating weeks of school. The Y CARES program is all-day care for children ages 5-12 facilitated by school district support staff and YMCA members. Our program is designed to enrich and support a child's unique educational and social-emotional needs in a friendly, safe and clean environment. For a school year as unique and challenging as this one, you need a unique solution. Let the Y CARES program be the answer! This program will be held Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. It is a $150.00 a week for members and non-members. Financial Assistance is available.

Daily activities included in our program are as follows:

  • Indoor Swimming
  • Open Gymnastics
  • Gym Time
  • Educational Support
  • Daily Adventures
  • And More!

The YMCA Kids Club After-School Program is a Green County Family YMCA initiative designed to address the need for safe yet educational after-school programming open to elementary aged children of Green County. YKC offers students ages 5 - 12 a safe and friendly place to be at the end of their day while providing them with a variety of programs specifically designed to teach, exercise and entertain. Following the Monroe School District calendar, our YKC staff maps each week's schedule on a time-based model, planning educational experiences for days when time allows and entertaining or athletic experiences on days when contact is limited.
